We’ve established that women have special status because they can get pregnant (unlike men). So what if a woman told you “I wouldn’t sleep with you even if you were the last man on earth!”? Would she really mean it?

Well, let’s consider that exact scenario in my article about The Beginnings of Inequality.

Let’s just imagine that there is one man and nine women on an island. For the continuation of the human race, that man can easily go about making every woman pregnant (lucky guy!), and this is totally OK. He is the only man left and is therefore critical to the survival of the tribe, and women, subconsciously behaving their own evolutionary drives, would make this perfectly OK.

HOWEVER, if the roles are reversed and there is ONE woman and nine men, things don’t end as well.
