A love triangle is a common theme of female romance novels. The typical story revolves around a woman who cannot choose between two men. On the one hand is the “bad boy” but stunningly handsome and sexy man who treats her like dirt, but on the other hand is the perfect nice guy who has fallen hopelessly in love with her and would do anything to please her. The woman is torn for choice and somewhere along the way, the nice guy is revealed to be less perfect than he makes out to be, probably insensitivity and lecherous, causing the woman to choose the other endearing but dangerous man.
